Every few years, the world’s most promising pianists convene in Salt Lake City for the prestigious Bachauer Artists Competition to compete for fame, cash, and prizes. The event returns in June 2024, marking 48 years of welcoming the world’s most elite pianists to Utah.

333 applications were received, representing over 40 countries. Now 119 pianists have been invited to perform this December and January in the Preliminary Round in one of four international cities: Hamburg, New York City, Hong Kong, and Salt Lake City.

36 pianists will continue on to Salt Lake City in June 2024 to compete for more than $106,000 US in prizes.

Twelve will be chosen to perform a new composition by acclaimed composer Gabriela Frank in the Semifinal Round.

Three pianists will compete in the Final Round of the Gina Bachauer Piano Competition 2024, each performing twice with the Utah Symphony in two evenings of concerto performances.
