Maria Canals International Music Competition 2023

The 68th Maria Canals International Music Competition 2023 for piano will be held next March at Palau de la Música Catalana. Between the 19 and 30 March, Barcelona will be filled with piano music. The best candidates from all over the world will compete to earn the Maria Canals Competition prizes. Winners will receive more than 80.000 euros worth in prizes. Young talents passionate about playing the piano who wish to pursue a career as pianists, are welcome in Barcelona at the start of spring.

The Maria Canals International Music Competition Association is a non-profit organisation that has been declared of public Interest. Its main purpose is to help young and aspiring professional music performers from all over the world through the Maria Canals International Music Competition of Barcelona (MCB). With each edition since 1954, Barcelona is at the centre stage of piano practice for fifteen days.

OFF is the informative, educational and social program informative, educational and social program of the Maria Canals de Barcelona Association. It includes many initiatives beyond the prestigious Competition that encourage access to music and amateur practice for young and old, in formal and informal education, to convey that experiencing and enjoying music is essential for everybody’s personal development.
