Berlin Prize for Young Artists 2023
March 7, 2023
The Berlin Prize for Young Artists 2023 encourages musicians to create potent arts experiences. It supports early-career performers with outstanding skills and strong artistic visions, providing winners with performance opportunities and comprehensive career support.
For the third edition of the Berlin Prize for Young Artists, facilitated by Bank Julius Baer and curated by VAN, we are looking for classical musicians with voice. It’s not about immaculate renditions of the standard repertoire. Instead, we’re looking to support artists with strong musicianship and an even stronger vision.
The Berlin Prize for Young Artists 2023 is curated by VAN and facilitated by Bank Julius Baer. The finals will take place on March 7, 2023. The international competition is open to musicians of any nationality born in or before 2004 who are currently studying at the university level, or have graduated, in any subject, between 2017 and 2021. No singers, conductors, or ensembles, sorry.
Applications are submitted via www.bpfya.com/apply. The application deadline is January 6th, 2023, at midnight Central European Time.
The jury will select a total of 6 (six) competitors based on the submitted applications. Finalists will be notified in early 2023.
The competition has two parts. The pre-selection is the first round and is based on the recordings and documents submitted by the applicants. The finals are the second round. All finalists will perform the entire 30-minute program they submitted. The finals will take place at the Musikbrauerei in Berlin.
