SUMMARY:Trondheim International Chamber Music Academy 2024
DESCRIPTION:The Trondheim International Chamber Music Academy 2024 for String Quartets will be held from 24-29 September 2024. \nApplications open 10 January 2024. \nApplication deadline is 20 April 2024. \n  \nInstructors include François Kieffer\, Hélène Clément\, Lorraine Campet and Tom Poster \n  \n\nREPERTOIRE\n\n\nFOR ACADEMY:\nEach quartet will be required to prepare 1-2 works of free choice (standard string quartet repertoire)\, of a minimum duration of 20 minutes. Each quartet will also be expected to prepare one work to be played together with the instructors like a standard repertoire quintet. This work will be announced once the participating quartets have been chosen. \nFOR APPLICATION:\nOne first movement of a Beethoven\, Haydn or Mozart string quartet and one movement from the romantic or 20th/21st century repertoire. \nEXTRA:\nThe Trondheim International Chamber Music Academy 2024 offers participating quartets to play for composer Jessie Montgomery in masterclass. You may choose from the following 5-10 min pieces: \n“Strum”\n“Break Away”\n“Source Code”\n“Voodoo Dolls” \nGrammy nominated composer Jessie Montgomery is the festival Composer at Trondheim Chamber Music Festival arranged parallel to TICC Academy. She is an acclaimed composer\, violinist\, and educator. A founding member of PUBLIQuartet and former member of the Catalyst Quartet\, she continues to maintain an active performance career as a violinist appearing regularly with her own ensembles. \n\n  \n  \nApplications will be accepted from musicians of all nationalities provided the combined maximum age of the quartet members as of 24 of September 2024 does not exceed 116 years. The age limit for each musician of the quartet must be under 34 and over 15 years on 29 of September 2024.

DESCRIPTION:Princess Astrid International Music Competition 2024 \nPeriod: 9 -12 SEPT 2024\nDiscipline: Violin\nAge limit: Below 30 years at the time of the competition\nLocation: Trondheim\, Norway\n\nAWARDS\n\n1st prize: \n\n160 000 NOK\nConcert engagement with Trondheim Symfoniorkester & Opera\n\n2nd prize: \n\n50 000 NOK\n\n3rd prize: \n\n25 000 NOK\n\n“Finn Audun Oftedal Memorial Scholarship” is awarded the best Norwegian candidate. \n\n\n  \n  \nThe Princess Astrid International Music Competition is held biennially in Trondheim (Norway)\, with disciplines alternating between violin and conducting. The Trondheim Symfoniorkester & Opera is owner and host of the competition. \nAssembling a distinguished jury and highly talented candidates\, the Princess Astrid IMC provides showcase opportunities for young classical artists as well as engaging concerts to its audience. \nInaugurated in 1953 Princess Astrid IMC is the longest running music competition in Norway. The aim of the competition is to provide career opportunities for young talented classical artists. Throughout the years many of its laureates have gone on to becoming internationally renowned musicians and soloists. \nThe competition has since 1956 enjoyed the royal patronage of Her Highness Princess Astrid Mrs Ferner of Norway\, and it is also supported by the Norwegian Ministry of Culture. \n  \nFormer chief conductor of Trondheim Symfoniorkester\, Finn Audun Oftedal\, founded the competition in order to give young musicians an opportunity to show their talent. Several of the prize winners throughout the years have gone on to becoming internationally renowned musicians and soloists. \nEver since 1956 the Princess Astrid International Music Competition enjoys the royal patronage of Princess Astrid\, Mrs Ferner of Norway. The Princess has shown the competition inestimable support\, and continues to be its active patron and wonderful ambassador \, decade after decade.

DESCRIPTION:The 12th Trondheim International Chamber Music Competition 2023 will be held from 26-30 September in Trondheim\, Norway. \nTen piano trios from all around the world will compete for prizes and glory! \nOpen for applications from 10th January 2023.\nApplication deadline: 20th April 2023. \n  \nRules and Repertoire available to view at https://ticc.no/competition+2023/rules++repertoire#Competitionrules2023 \n  \n\nCOMPETITION RULES TICC 2023\nSending an application is free of charge. \n\n\n1.     12th Trondheim International Chamber Music Competition is open to piano trios (violin\, cello and piano). \n2.      Applications will be accepted from musicians of all nationalities provided the combined maximum age of the trio members as of 26th of September 2023 does not exceed 90 years. The age limit for each musician of the trio must be under 35 and over 16 years on 26th of September 2023. \n3.      Musicians may only enter the competition as a member of one ensemble. \n4.      Musicians are responsible for all travel expenses. The competition will offer lodging in 2-bed room\, as well as breakfast and one hot meal a day. \n5.      The application must be sent no later than the day of the deadline; 20 April 2023.
