SUMMARY:La Maestra Competition 2024
DESCRIPTION:Following two acclaimed editions in 2020 and 2022\, the Paris Mozart Orchestra and Philharmonie de Paris are very proud to announce the 3rd edition of La Maestra International Competition for Women Conductors\, to take place on 14-17 March 2024 in Paris. \nThis 3rd Competition promises to be even more ambitious\, with a prestigious and gender-balanced international Jury chaired by Nathalie Stutzmann (Music Director of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Kristiansand Symfoniorkeste\, Principal Guest Conductor at the Philadelphia Orchestra)\, and stronger visibility for women composers in every one of the Paris rounds. \nLa Maestra is open to professional women conductors from all over the world\, without age limit. Next September\, 14 conductors will be selected by a gender-balanced committee to attend the final rounds in March 2024. \nLa Maestra’s mission doesn’t end on the day after the final rounds of the Competition: for 2 years\, the winners will join La Maestra Academy and be provided with a raft of personal and career development opportunities. \nSociety is evolving. More and more women conductors are being programmed in musical institutions\, but we know that the fight must continue until gender equality is permanently etched into the international musical landscape. Giving confidence and visibility to the talented women who are emerging as orchestral conductors is a cause La Maestra will continue to champion with commitment and passion. \nApplications will open on 8 March 2023\, on the occasion of the International Women Right’s Day. \n  \nIn 2019 the Philharmonie de Paris and the Paris Mozart Orchestra joined forces to create La Maestra International Competition for Women Conductors. The Competition is uniquely complemented by an Academy\, which provides selected candidates with professional support for a period of 2 years. After two emblematic editions in September 2020 and March 2022\, La Maestra has become one of the world’s not-to-be-missed classical musical events. \nCo-directed by artistic director of the Paris Mozart Orchestra Claire Gibault and Olivier Mantei\, general manager of the Philharmonie de Paris\, the next La Maestra Competition will take place at the Philharmonie de Paris from 14 to 17 March 2024.

SUMMARY:Paris Opera Competition 2023
DESCRIPTION:The Paris Opera Competition 2023 is a biennial competition for opera singers held in Paris\, devoted to discovering and helping promote young opera singers. While a competition was determined to be the best vehicle for helping emerging artists\, the Paris Opera Competition strives to create something more: not only exposure and prize money but a piece of the puzzle in a singer’s path to success. \nFounded in 2010\, the Paris Opera Competition team is made up of opera lovers\, industry professionals and former and current young artists all working together to help nurture artists at the vulnerable start to their careers. We aim to create a complete experience for contestants\, allowing them to compete\, perform and learn. For each competition\, we invite industry professionals from various sectors of the opera business to be in our jury\, work with the singers\, or attend the finals\, in order to give singers the knowledge and tools required to make significant advances towards their long and short term goals. \nIn order to register\, a candidate must be at least 18 years old (with parental authorization depending on the country in which he/she is a minority) and no older than 32 years old at the end of the year of the competition final. \nRegistrations are made online on the website www.parisoperacompetition.com \nThe Paris Opera Competition 2023 association in partnership with the Dassault Group will award four prizes in front of the public and after deliberation by the jury: \nFirst Prize \nSecond Prize \nThird Prize \nAudience Prize \nThese prizes range from 1\,500 € to 8\,000 €. \nAny finalist who does not receive a prize will be awarded €1\,000.
