DESCRIPTION:The CINARS Biennale 2024 will take place in Montreal from November 11 to 16. \nSince 1984\, CINARS organizes every two years in Montreal\, one of the most important international performing arts conferences in the world\, with nearly 1900 professionals hailing from 54 countries including 433 show presenters\, some of whom are the most influential in the business. During one week\, over 170 shows from Quebec\, Canada and abroad grace the stages while workshops\, networking events\, as well as an exhibition hall are teeming with participants. SUMMARY:Canadian International Organ Competition 2024
DESCRIPTION:In October 2024\, the Canadian International Organ Competition (CIOC) will welcome young competitors to Montreal from around the world to compete in different churches for the chance to win prizes totalling more than $100\,000 CAD. \n  \nThe Canadian International Organ Competition 2024 is open to organists of all nationalities born on or after October 26\, 1989. The first prizewinner of any previous CIOC Competition is ineligible to apply. \n  \nThe Final Round will take place at the Maison symphonique de Montréal\, on the organ by Casavant Frères\, op. 3900 (2014) An international jury will listen to five final candidates. Following the Final Round\, the president of the jury will announce the names of the winners of the Canadian International Organ Competition. The final round consists of a recital of no more than 50 minutes including breaks. The jury will take into consideration the construction and the balance of the programme. \n  \n  \nThe Canadian International Organ Competition (CIOC) is a world-renowned International Cultural Organization whose objective is to promote the beautiful art of organ music through competitions\, festivals\, concerts\, educational activities\, and monetary and professional support to emerging artists. \nEvery three years\, the CIOC organizes an international competition in which a prestigious jury representing various countries awards more than $100\,000 in prizes to a selection of the best young organists in the world. Every year in October\, the CIOC presents a major festival featuring performances by world-class concert organists and previous competition prizewinners. \nSeeking to actively participate in cultural life\, the CIOC presents a program of year-round activities in collaboration with various arts organisations\, including the Canada-wide concert series The Organ Takes its Place (l’Orgue et son lieu). These musical and educational activities are designed to highlight the cultural importance of pipe organs – treasures of our heritage – to a wide and diverse audience.

DESCRIPTION:From May 5 to 16\, 2024\, the piano takes centre stage at the Concours musical international de Montréal (CMIM). This elite-level competition is aimed at pianists of the new generation who are destined for a professional career. \n  \nThe competition finalists will have the exceptional opportunity to perform under the baton of Xian Zhang for the Grand Final with the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal (OSM)\, on May 15 and 16\, 2024\, at Maison symphonique de Montréal. \n  \nJURY\nThe jury for the Piano 2024 edition of the Concours musical international de Montréal (CMIM) will be chaired by Zarin Mehta.  \nELIGIBILITY\nYoung pianists of all nationalities\, born between January 1\, 1994\, and December 31\, 2007\, may apply for the competition.   \nIMPORTANT DATES\nApplication period: September 1 to October 31\, 2023\nInvitations to the candidates: December 15\, 2023\nSubmission of final programmes: January 19\, 2024\nAnnouncement of the candidates: February 1\, 2024\nArrival of the candidates in Montreal: May 3\, 2024\nFirst Round: May 5 to 7\, 2024\nSemifinal: May 9 to 12\, 2024\nFinal: May 15 and 16\, 2024   \nPRIZES AND GRANTS \nMore than $150\,000 CAD in prizes\, awards\, and grants will be awarded to the laureates and winners of the Piano 2024 edition. \n  \n  \nThe Concours musical international de Montréal (CMIM) is considered one of the great cultural achievements in Canada. The CMIM aims to stimulate the emergence of the new generation of musicians destined for a professional career and to promote their influence within the international artistic community while making classical music accessible to the greatest number of people. \nThe Competition has earned an undeniable worldwide reputation. People come from all over the world to participate. Since its creation in 2001\, near to 5\,000 young musicians from over 90 countries\, trained in the world’s leading schools\, have entered the CMIM to compete against the world’s rising musical talent. \nFounded in 2001 by internationally renowned bass Joseph Rouleau (1929-2019) and politician and philanthropist André Bourbeau (1936-2018)\, the CMIM is today one of the most prominent international competitions.
