SUMMARY:International Piano Competition -Istanbul Orchestra’ Sion 2024
DESCRIPTION:The International Piano Competition -Istanbul Orchestra’ Sion aims to promote internationally recognized professional musicians who have been selected from all over the world. This mission has been prompted by a desire to give artists a place to develop and expand musically\, to offer musicians the opportunity to enjoy human and artistic exchanges with the public\, and with a jury composed of distinguished international concert performers. The International Piano Competition -Istanbul Orchestra’Sion aims to be regarded as a milestone in the career of young concert performers and at becoming over the years a major musical event in Turkey\, in the Mediterranean region and even beyond. \nThe competition will take place in the concert hall of Notre Dame de Sion High School\, located in the centre of Istanbul. The candidates will be selected on examination of DVDs or audiovisual files. The competition will include four public events. During the Finale concert\, the candidates will be accompanied by the Orchestra’Sion Orchestra under the baton of conductor Orçun Orçunsel. \nAll prizes will be presented at the Gala Recital of the competition. \n  \nKey Dates for the International Piano Competition -Istanbul Orchestra’ Sion 2024: \n\nFriday December 1\, 2023 midnight: Sending of the registration form for video preselections and payment of the registration fee (60 Euros).\nMonday December 18\, 2023: All applicants will be contacted no later than Monday\, December 18\, 2023 to be notified whether their application has been accepted or not.\nTuesday January 2\, 2024: Sending of the contemporary work by the Turkish composer Ali Darmar (Third Round) to all selected candidates.\nFriday January 19\, 2024 midnight: Sending of the registration form for selected candidates and second payment of the registration fee (60 Euros).\nFriday March 1\, 2024: Closing of the form on Friday January 19\, 2024 : it will no longer be possible to complete it. SUMMARY:World Symposium on Choral Music 2023
DESCRIPTION:From 25-30 April 2023\, Istanbul will present the World Symposium on Choral Music 2023\, hosted by the Republic of Türkiye\, Ministry of Culture and Tourism. We have attracted representation from all regions in the world\, including as many styles and traditions of ensemble singing as possible and the symposium will explore the current world of choir music and how singing together could look like in the near and far future. What better place to hold this exciting event than Istanbul\, the only transcontinental city in the world? This is a great opportunity to be part of a globally attended and publicised\, cultural organisation. The event brings together the finest choirs and choral leaders for performances\, seminars\, workshops\, exhibitions and reading sessions. In addition to the symposium\, the event will include a choir festival of 80 concerts given by international and national choirs in a multitude of venues\, which will take place simultaneously\, going on all day\, to be concluded by Gala concerts at AKM each day. This event will also be accompanied by an International Expo of up to 40 stands. \n  \nRegister to attend HERE \n  \nOur efforts to revive keep us together in the preparations for WSCM for the International Federation of Choral Music in İstanbul. We have experienced the healing effect of choral music immediately after the catastrophe. We believe the solidarity in choral music will rejuvenate us further. Now there is another meaning attached to the WSCM 2023 theme on our side; Changing Horizons are possible as long as we stand together and sing together. We are looking forward to coming together in solidarity. See you in April in İstanbul.
