SUMMARY:Scottish International Piano Competition 2023
DESCRIPTION:The Scottish International Piano Competition 2023 will take place between 1 and 10 September in Glasgow\, United Kingdom. The order of playing will be determined by ballot\, drawn at the opening reception on the evening of 30 August 2023. \nThe competition is open to pianists of any nationality aged between 18 and 30 years old (inclusive) on 30 August 2023. \nThe competition will have four stages. \n\nStages 1\, 2\, and 3\, will be solo recitals in the Stevenson Hall of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.\nStage 4 will be a concerto performance with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra at Scotland’s Studio\, conducted by Thomas Søndergård.\n\nAll performances are open to the public.\nAll competitors will play in Stages 1 and 2.\nA maximum of ten competitors will be selected to play in Stage 3 (semifinal).\nThree competitors will be selected to play in Stage 4 (final). \nSince 1986\, the Scottish International Piano Competition has been held in Glasgow\, UK\, attracting many of the world’s brilliant young concert pianists to Scotland. \nThe competition enables young professional musicians to gain recognition at an early stage in their careers. The next edition\, held between 1st and 10th September 2023\, will include recital rounds at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland\, followed by a concerto performance by three finalists and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra\, conducted by Thomas Søndergård. \nThe Scottish International Piano Competition 2023 will be assessed by a jury composed of internationally recognised musicians.
