SUMMARY:Ilona Fehér International Violin Competition 2024
DESCRIPTION:The Ilona Fehér International Violin Competition 2024 will take place in Budapest\, Hungary at the Budapest Music Centre. \nThe Ilona Fehér International Violin Competition\, for violinists under 22\, was founded in 2017 by leading Hungarian violinists Katalin Kokas and Barnabás Kelemen. The contestants are judged by an international jury comprising famous violinists and music educators. Masterclasses led by jury members form an integral part of the competition\, and the contestants may also attend the rehearsals and concerts of Festival Academy Budapest 2024\, the international chamber music festival hosted by Katalin Kokas and Barnabás Kelemen themselves\, which runs in parallel with the violin competition at the Liszt Academy. The aim of the competition is threefold: first\, to give young violinists the chance to exhibit their talents to the world; second\, to provide them with the opportunity to continue their learning directly through the masterclasses and\, in a more holistic sense\, by experiencing the concerts of world-famous musicians; third\, to help them better appreciate their roles in one of the most beautiful traditions of classical music

SUMMARY:European Forum on Music 2023
DESCRIPTION:After two years of forced pause\, the European Forum on Music (EFM) is finally back with its 11th edition ‘Sustain Music’ and we are very much looking forward to welcoming you in Budapest\, Hungary. From 8 to 10 June 2023\, come and join hundreds of music professionals and art enthusiasts from all over Europe\, and get to know relevant case studies\, learn about exciting music projects\, and meet your peers who share the same aim: to Sustain Music. \nStill in the middle of recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic\, the music sector is being faced with new challenges. The Russian invasion in Ukraine has caused a social\, economic\, and humanitarian crisis in Europe and beyond. In addition\, climate action remains an important societal task that the music sector is actively contributing to. \nIn these uncertain times\, music remains a vital element for Europe’s diverse and fair societies – music sustains. As music can be understood as a relationship between people\, a relationship based on shared values\, it is more important than ever to stand up for the IMC 5 Music Rights\, including the rights to access and celebrate music for all\, and the right to be fairly remunerated for musical activities. \nAt the same time\, the world of music is in a constant state of flux\, and as new methods of how to do things arise\, there is a strong need for ongoing capacity building. The European Forum on Music (EFM) will foster personal exchanges and strengthen relationships between organisations\, projects\, and individuals. At the EFM you will be able to meet key actors\, and to participate in a variety of sessions\, including keynote speeches\, panel discussions\, interactive workshops\, and networking sessions. \nThe European Forum on Music 2023 is organised by the European Music Council in cooperation with the Hungarian Music Council and Papageno with the support of the Foundation for Hungarian Culture. It will take place in the House of Music Hungary.
