SUMMARY:International Max Rostal Competition 2024
DESCRIPTION:The next International Max Rostal Competition 2024 will be held from 19-25 October 2024 in Berlin.\nArtistic direction: Prof. Nora Chastain and Prof. Hartmut Rohde \n  \nMax Rostal played an important role in the history of violin playing\, both as performer and as teacher. Many internationally known violinists over several generations were students of Max Rostal. In 1991\, a competition was created in his name in his adopted hometown of Bern\, Switzerland. Initially hosted by the Bern Conservatory\, and alternately held for violin and viola\, since 2009 it is held at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK Berlin) for violin and viola simultaneously.

SUMMARY:Berlin Prize for Young Artists 2023
DESCRIPTION:The Berlin Prize for Young Artists 2023 encourages musicians to create potent arts experiences. It supports early-career performers with outstanding skills and strong artistic visions\, providing winners with performance opportunities and comprehensive career support. \n  \nVAN Magazine and Bank Julius Baer are looking for musicians who create cathartic\, disturbing\, potent\, hilarious\, revolutionary\, enigmatic\, raw\, and unforgettable experiences. \n  \nFor the third edition of the Berlin Prize for Young Artists\, facilitated by Bank Julius Baer and curated by VAN\, we are looking for classical musicians with voice. It’s not about immaculate renditions of the standard repertoire. Instead\, we’re looking to support artists with strong musicianship and an even stronger vision. \n  \nThe Berlin Prize for Young Artists 2023 is curated by VAN and facilitated by Bank Julius Baer. The finals will take place on March 7\, 2023. The international competition is open to musicians of any nationality born in or before 2004 who are currently studying at the university level\, or have graduated\, in any subject\, between 2017 and 2021. No singers\, conductors\, or ensembles\, sorry. \nApplications are submitted via www.bpfya.com/apply. The application deadline is January 6th\, 2023\, at midnight Central European Time. \nThe jury will select a total of 6 (six) competitors based on the submitted applications. Finalists will be notified in early 2023. \nThe competition has two parts. The pre-selection is the first round and is based on the recordings and documents submitted by the applicants. The finals are the second round. All finalists will perform the entire 30-minute program they submitted. The finals will take place at the Musikbrauerei in Berlin.

SUMMARY:Grand Prix Emanuel Feuermann 2022
DESCRIPTION:The Grand Prix Emanuel Feuermann 2022 will be held from 15 to 22 November. \nKronberg Academy and the Domenico-Gabrielli Foundation of Berlin University of the Arts (UdK Berlin) are together organising the fifth Grand Prix Emanuel Feuermann. The international cello competition is open to cellists of any nationality born in or after 1992. \nMembers of the jury will select a total of 12 competitors based on the documents and video/sound recordings submitted. This pre-selection is considered the first round of the competition. \nApplicants will be informed of the first round results by 1 September 2020 at the latest. \nThe Competition is divided into four parts. Pre-selection based on the recordings and documents submitted constitutes the first round (see section 4 above). The second\, third (semi-final) and fourth (final) rounds will be public events held in the form of concerts. The second and third rounds will take place in the Chamber Music Hall of the Berlin Philharmonie\, and the final at Haus des Rundfunks (Broadcasting House) in Berlin. \nIn the second round\, competitors may play their programme of pieces in any order. In the third round (semi-final) and fourth round (final) all orchestra pieces must be played by heart.
