SUMMARY:DAVOS FESTIVAL 2024
DESCRIPTION:The DAVOS FESTIVAL 2024 explores diverse visions of the future in numerous chamber music and solo concerts – with music that builds bridges between the past and the future. \n\n\n\n\n\nThe DAVOS FESTIVAL 2024 has the motto “Utopia” and follows the temptation to correct past mistakes\, lay new tracks and positively change the future. But from a linguistic point of view\, utopia is also a “non-place”\, an unattainable ideal. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn numerous chamber music and solo concerts\, the DAVOS FESTIVAL explores diverse visions of the future\, be it in the form of dreamlike\, failed\, already realized\, old or new ideas – with music that skillfully builds a bridge between the past and the future. \n\n\n\n\n\n  \nThe DAVOS FESTIVAL is a young chamber music festival that faces today’s challenges of classical concerts in search of new content and formats and surprises with innovative programs in unheard of places. In constantly changing chamber music formations\, particularly talented young musicians perform not only instrumental works of classical and modern music\, but also vocal music and works from the Baroque period. This creates a sensually tangible space for listening\, a space for encounters and a space for experiencing. \nThe DAVOS FESTIVAL – young artists in concert was founded in the summer of 1986 on the initiative of Michael Haefliger\, the current director of the Lucerne Festival. Since then\, the spirit and expressiveness of the young musicians\, combined with the splendor of the Davos mountains\, have been attracting music enthusiasts from all over Switzerland and all over the world to Davos year after year. \nIn addition to the two-week festival in the summer\, the New Year’s Concert has also been part of the DAVOS FESTIVAL’s regular program since 2011 and the winter singing week since 2016.
