DESCRIPTION:The Verbier Festival 2024 will take place between 19 July and 4 August in Verbier\, Switzerland. \n  \nThe Verbier Festival is an international classical music event that takes place each summer in the mountain town of Verbier\, Switzerland. The Festival’s mission is to build a community of exchange between great masters and young artists from all over the world and to be a leader in its field by providing meaningful music education programmes. \n  \nLaunched in 1994\, and now globally renowned\, the Festival welcomes audiences with a distinctive and exhilarating blend of events\, both large-scale and intimate. Audiences from around the globe come to experience music-making at the highest level in a setting that brings them close to star performers\, rising talent and a complete process of learning\, rehearsal and performance. \nThe Verbier Festival 2024 Academy and Orchestra programmes are its respiratory system—a talent incubator where future talents are discovered and nurtured. These programmes set the gold standard for training of emerging soloists\, chamber and orchestral musicians\, singers and conductors. Each summer\, audiences witness these musicians in action at more than 100 masterclasses\, rehearsals and performances. The Verbier Festival Orchestra has become a rite of passage for today’s exceptional young orchestral musicians and the Academy’s programmes for soloists\, chamber musicians and singers include an impressive list of alumni from over 60 countries who have been engaged by the world’s leading concert presenters since their time in Verbier. \nThe Festival’s third pillar\, UNLTD\, is a creative laboratory that awakens curiosity for music across genres and generations. Throughout the year\, and during the summer when it is dubbed  a ‘Festival within the Festival’\, UNLTD offers a programme of music awakening through imaginative concerts\, workshops\, talks and immersive experiences that transcend musical boundaries.

SUMMARY:Verbier Festival Academy 2024
DESCRIPTION:The Verbier Festival Academy 2024 searches the world for the most promising pianists\, violinists\, violists\, cellists and chamber music ensembles of trios and quartets to become students of its Soloists & Ensembles Programme. \nArtist training is at the heart of the Verbier Festival’s DNA. The Festival’s Academy and Orchestra Programmes have been a career launchpad for many of today’s most sought-after soloists\, chamber ensembles\, singers\, orchestral players and conductors. \nFour to eight from each solo discipline and up to two ensembles are selected for three weeks of mentorship and coaching by a faculty that is second to none. Up to three Junior Students\, aged 13 to 15\, may also be invited to soak up the Festival experience with the aim of inspiring them to apply for full Academy positions in the future. The study and performance of chamber music is fundamental at Verbier. Soloists take part in chamber music masterclasses in addition to those in their respective solo disciplines. \n  \n\nApplications open: 10 October 2023\nApplication deadline: 18 January 2024\nFee: USD 100 (USD 50 for Junior Students) \n\n  \nSoloist applicants must be pianist\, violinists\, violists or cellists aged 16 to 26 on 1 July 2024. Candidates who are aged 13 to 15 on 1 July 2024 must apply to the Soloists Programme for Junior Students. Applications will not be accepted from students that are younger than 13. \nPre-formed trios and quartets may apply to the Academy’s Soloists & Ensembles Programme. The average age of the ensemble’s players must be between 22 and 30 on 1 July 2024. \nMusicians may take part in the Verbier Festival Academy’s Soloists & Ensembles Programme only twice and must re-apply to be considered for a second year of participation. The Academy recommends that musicians do not attend in consecutive years to allow for time for musical and personal growth. \n  \nSuccessful candidates are required to sign an agreement with the Fondation du Verbier Festival\, thereby committing to the entire Verbier Festival Academy Soloists & Ensembles Programme summer session from 14 July to 5 August 2024 and accepting all rules of the Academy. \nJunior Students may attend for a shorter period upon mutual agreement with the Academy with the Academy. \n  \nApplications to the Academy’s Soloists and Ensembles Programme are submitted through the getAcceptd on-line platform.
