SUMMARY:Santa Cecilia International Piano Competition 2023
DESCRIPTION:Santa Cecilia International Piano Competition 2023 \nRules Main \n\nThe competition is open to participants of all nationalities;\nMain category comprises participants up to 32 years old;\nThe age of the participant is considered on the 31st of December 2022;\nAll the participants must submit a video recording until the 8th of April 2023 (see the topic Pre-selection Round).\nParticipants that received lessons from a member of the Jury in the last three years can’t take part in the competition. In the event of any irregularity\, the participant won’t be allowed to participate in the competition;\nFirst prize winners from previous editions are not eligible to enter the same category in which they won their prize;\nThe participants going to the semi-final will be offered a prize money of 300 euros;\nThe organization/scheduling of the Recitals concerning the prizes are responsibility of the institutions that offer the prize;\n\nPre-selection Round \n\nThe participants must submit together with the application formulary a youtube link (only one – multiple links won’t be accepted) with the video recording;\nThe recording comprises the following repertoire:\n\nOne Etude by Chopin or Liszt or Rachmaninoff;\nOne movement from a classical sonata (Haydn\, Mozart\, Beethoven);\nWork of the participant’s own choice with a maximum of 6 minutes;\n\n\nThe recording shouldn’t be edited: only one stopped camera\, where one can see both hands of the pianist;\n\nApplication \n\nThe application should be done online on the website: scecilia-competition.com;\nTogether with the online form the following documents will be required to attach:\n\nRecent photo;\nCurriculum Vitae – maximum 15 lines;\nPayment Receipt – attach scan of the check or bank transfer receipt;\nYoutube link with video recording;\n\n\nApplication’s deadline/Pre-selection round: 8th of April of 2023;\nThe results of the pre-selection round will be published until the 30th of April of 2023;\nThe candidates that go through this stage can change their repertoire for the competition until the 15th of May 2023;\nThe competition fee should be paid together with the application. The fees for the main category are: 50.00 euros for the pre-selection round + 90.00 euros for the candidates that will continue the competition;\nFor the candidates going through the pre-selection round\, they have until 30th May to complete the payment of the remaining 90.00 euros;\nThe payment can be done through:\n\nBank Transfer to IBAN PT50 0010 0000 5121 7990 0016 5\, BIC BBPIPTPL / Banco BPI – Balcão Foz – Praça do Império (the name\, instrument and category of the participant must figure on description);\nCheck addressed to CMSM – Curso de Música Silva Monteiro\, Lda and mailed to: Curso de Música Silva Monteiro // Comissão de Apoio ao Concurso Sta. Cecília // Rua Monsenhor Fonseca Soares\, 137 // 4150-335 Porto – PORTUGAL;\nPaypal (click here);\n\n\nFees will not be returned in case of non-attendance;\nIn carrying enrolment\, competitors are authorizing the use of their image through photography or filming\, for the purposes of institutional publicity;\nApplication will not be accepted if containing incomplete or false data;\nApplications will only be validated when all documents are received;\n\nCompetition Rounds/Participants \n\nAll the participants must be present on the 23rd July 2023 for a meeting where the performances order will be drawn. In case of missing that meeting\, the participant won’t be allowed to participate in the competition;\nAt the meeting on the 23rd July 2023\, the participants will receive an individual practice and warm-up time-table;\nCompetition will accept a maximum of 30 participants for the eliminatory\, from which 12 will go to the semi-final\, and 3 to the final round with orchestra;\nThe repertoire should be played by memory;\nThe final round will be accompanied by orchestra.\n\n  \nAll matters not covered in this regulation will be submitted to consideration by the Organizing Committee of this competition in charge of its analysis and solution.
