Wigmore Hall/Bollinger International Song Competition 2022

Since its foundation in 1997, the Wigmore Hall/Bollinger International Song Competition has grown in status and prestige, and continues to attract singers and pianists from around the world, aged 33 or under, who are keen to embark on significant recital careers.

After 20 years of very generous support from The Kohn Foundation, the 2019 Competition was sponsored by Independent Opera at Sadler’s Wells. The 2021 and 2023 Competitions will be sponsored by William and Judith Bollinger.

Providing an invaluable opportunity for feedback and guidance from a jury consisting of the highest calibre of internationally renowned artists and directors from the world’s elite concert halls and music festivals, the Competition also promotes the exchange of ideas between artists from all over the world, and presents an important platform for public performance and the expansion of repertoire.

Dates: The Competition itself will take place between Saturday 3 – Wednesday 7 September 2022 inclusive. Selected singers and pianists will be expected to arrive in London no later than Friday 2 September 2022 and leave on Thursday 8 September 2022.

Venues: the Preliminary Round will be held at Wigmore Hall on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 September, the Semi-Finals and Final at Wigmore Hall on Monday 5 and Wednesday 7 September respectively.
