Stuttgart International Violin Competition 2021
Founded in 2019, the Stuttgart International Violin Competition links the Guadagnini foundation with the Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra and the Stuttgart State Academy of Music and Performing Arts. The first two rounds are in the chamber music hall. The finale will take place in the concert hall and will be accompanied by the Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra. All performances are open to the public. All contributions to the International Violin Competition will be streamed online.
The first prize winner will receive 25.000€, plus concert engagements with the Stuttgart Philharmonic, the Orchestra of the Symphoniker Hamburg and the Philharmonie Südwestfalen as well as further recitals.
In addition, the first prize winner of the Competition will benefit from loan of a 1746 violin by Giovanni Battista Guadagnini.
Second prize is 15.000€, and the third prize 10.000€.
The registration phase for the Stuttgart International Violin Competition 2021 ended on July 31, 2020.
266 applicants from 43 countries have registered.
The aim of the Competition is to support young, highly talented string players on their way to an international career.
The International Violin Competition Stuttgart offers the young virtuosos an ideal platform to face up to great, powerful competition and to attract international attention through live streams and digital networking.
