ISANGYUN Competition 2021
The ISANGYUN Competition 2021 (discipline: VIOLIN) will be held from October 30 to November 7 at Tongyeong Concert Hall, South Korea. On top of airfare and accommodations covered by the competition, this year, we will also cover the quarantine fee of foreign candidates invited to participate in the First Round in order to relieve pressure caused by the pandemic.The application due date is July 31.
The ISANGYUN Competition has been presented by the Tongyeong International Music Foundation since 2003. It is held in remembrance of Isang Yun (1917~1995), the renowned Korean composer, by promoting cultural exchanges among nations through music, and by supporting talented young musicians from all over the world. The Competition is held annually in November, alternating between the disciplines Violin, Cello and Piano.
The ISANGYUN Competition 2021 is open to violinists of all nationalities, born between November 1, 1990 and October 31, 2006.
Candidates selected for the First Round must submit a negative COVID-19 test result before arriving at the Competition venue in Tongyeong. (The test results are only valid within one week from the date of arrival.) In the case of foreign participants, the competition will support the full cost of quarantine if they are quarantined according to the guidelines of the Korean government.
