International String Quartet Competition “Premio Paolo Borciani”
COMPETITION POSTPONED TO 2021 DUE TO COVID-19
Considering the spread of COVID-19 and the current advice from health officials as well as the restrictions introduced in order to fight the disease worldwide, Fondazione I Teatri in Reggio Emilia, in agreement with its institutional partners, announces that the 12th International Competition for String Quartets “Premio Paolo Borciani”, due to take place from 7 to 14 June 2020, has been postponed and will be held from 5 to 13 June 2021
The selections already made for 2020 will remain valid. However, applications will be reopened for new admissions up to a maximum number of 12 competing string quartets.
The new notice of the competition will be coming up shortly on this website. Candidates will be able to submit their applications from 15 June 2020 to 15 December 2020.
Fondazione I Teatri of Reggio Emilia (Italy) is issuing a call for participation in the 12th International String Quartets Competition “Premio Paolo Borciani”.
The Competition will be held from June 7 – 14 at the Teatro Municipale Romolo Valli in Reggio Emilia.
The Competition is open to String Quartets of any nationality.
The combined age of the four members of each Quartet must not exceed 128 years. Single members can be no older than 35 years old as of June 6, 2020 (included).
