“This is a particularly sad day in Glyndebourne’s history as I share with you the news that we cannot stage a Festival this year. COVID-19’s persistence means that we have taken the painful decision to cancel all remaining Festival 2020 performances. This follows our earlier cancellation of Festival performances up to 14 July, as announced on 18 March. Following Government advice, the Glyndebourne site remains closed.”
Each summer, from May to August, we stage the Glyndebourne Festival – our flagship season of world-class opera during which audiences can enjoy opera in our state-of-the-art indoor auditorium.
The Festival has a tradition of formal dress, and our audience members relish the opportunity to dress up for a day.
A key part of the Glyndebourne Festival experience is our 90-minute interval – a chance to enjoy a picnic in the gardens or dinner at one of our three on-site restaurants. You’re welcome to bring your own picnic, or order one to pick up when you arrive.
