Glyndebourne Festival 2021
The Glyndebourne Festival takes place at an opera house in the heard of the Sussex countryside.
It all began with a love story in 1934, when founder John Christie met soprano Audrey Mildmay. Glyndebourne is now one of the finest and most celebrated opera houses in the world, delivering performances to some 150,000 people across a summer Festival and an autumn Tour.
Each summer, from May to August, we stage the Glyndebourne Festival – our flagship season of world-class opera during which audiences can enjoy opera in our state-of-the-art indoor auditorium.
The Festival has a tradition of formal dress, and our audience members relish the opportunity to dress up for a day.
A key part of the Glyndebourne Festival experience is our 90-minute interval – a chance to enjoy a picnic in the gardens or dinner at one of our three on-site restaurants. You’re welcome to bring your own picnic, or order one to pick up when you arrive.
